Look at 2:45 - 2:53 the guy saying Gandhi won the Nobel prize - No he did not. The f--- do they get their panelist from. Can fox news be non-partisan news channel for a single minute.

Dawkins on real time

I have just started reading the lastest Dawkin's book "The Greatest show on Earth". I have just read the first chapter, it is typical dawkins writing style - which I like. Here is an interview of Dawkins on Bill Maher Real Time. I will keep updating about what I think about the new book as I read it.

Grayson - A Hero or ....

Finally the republican got a befitting reply from the a democrat. I had wished for a long time that the somebody from the democratic side should stand up to the crazy talk going around. Now, that I see one I am not sure whether it is good for the country. I don't think that Grayson's statements are in any way offensive or misleading. Definitely not when compared to things being talked about by Michelle Bachman - school nurse = abortion clinics!! that is completely insane.

The question is, if name calling is going to be the answer to name calling, that is all that will be left in this country in the name of debate. So who wins? Of course the lobbyists.

It is good that Grayson has let the republicans know that there is someone on the democratic side who has a spine, I hope that this deters republican from talking non sense and the two sides start to engage in a real debate. If only they were guided by logic and reasoning and above all desire for public welfare.

International Blasphemy Day

30th September is "International Blasphemy Day". So go ahead and offend religion, God and other imaginary friend related diseases.

The banana man is giving away free copies of "The origin of species", with a 50 page introduction written by him. The 50 page introduction can be found at

It is not surprising that the 50 page introduction is nothing but the usual nonsensical arguments. I am definitely not the first one to point this out.

Instead of spending his time and money to give away "The origin of speicies". The banana man should make an attempt to read it. He not only proves that he does not understand evolution, he does not understand physics either

Now understand his real agenda. He is not going to stop with Biology. His next target seems to be Physics, about which he is as ignorant as he is about Biology.

I always seems to have problem with various polls that suggest that half of US does not believe in evolution. The question should not be whether you believe in evolution or not, but, whether you understand evolution and scientific methodology. If people like the banana man had their way they will convert US in an 12th century nation.

Guys need a protocol

Last weekend I was at a party with my best friend - she's pretty astrophysics graduate student. Yes you heard it right. Here is what happens when guys hang out with interesting girls. Random guys - ok I am exaggerating it was just a guy, comes over and starts talking to my friend - asking her what she does etc, etc. After a while the guy feels obligated to ask similar questions for sake of parity because I am with her. I am pretty sure he guesses that I am not her boyfriend, she is too pretty for that. I knew he is not at all interested in what I do, and he knew that too. I was wished guys had a universal signal protocol to signal "Dude! Cut the crap and hit on the girl I am with. I don't mind."

Actually the worst thing is when the random guy starts to prove that "I am the alpha man not you."

Seriously is there an existing protocol for this purpose....

Big Bang Theory Rocks

I can totally relate to the Big Bang theory. The latest show about new neighbor moving above Lennard and Sheldon rocks. The list of the guys whose face kept on appearing in my mind was as if never ending. In fact I am not even sure whether I am one of them. The only thing I could not relate to is a girl as pretty as penny telling a physics joke, no matter how threatened she feels. Well, there is no reason she would feel threatened there is no short supply of nerdy guys willing to be taken advantage of.
